Navigating iPDA

The iPDA window allows you to select the information you want to transfer to your iPod. It's the launching point from which you configure and transfer your data.

Click on the button associated with the information you want to manage. Each window has specific controls but will all have the same basic operation, including the ability to select whether or not you want to sync that information. Clicking OK will save any changes you make while clicking Cancel will forget the changes.

If you have a registered copy of iPDA there are also a number of keyboard combinations available. Holding down the Command key while clicking a button will toggle whether or not the information is to be included in a sync operation. Holding down the Command and Option keys while clicking a button will automatically initiate a transfer of the information to your iPod (equivalent to having the information synced).

The Utility buttons allow you to work directly with your iPod. Sync is used start transferring the information you've selected to your iPod, Clean allows you to remove all information of a particular type from your iPod, and Eject causes your iPod to be removed from the Desktop so you can disconnect it and start viewing your PIM data (and listen to music, I guess ;) ).

Note that prior to syncing iPDA removes the files currently on your iPod. It will not remove files for information not being synced (e.g. if you have contacts on your iPod but are not syncing them they will remain untouched on your iPod).

If you have a registered copy of iPDA, holding down the Command key while clicking Clean will automatically remove all information from your Contacts, Calendars and/or Notes.

For iPDA to transfer information to your iPod you must Enable Disk Use for your iPod (from within iTunes preferences). Note that iPDA may partially work if you do not enable disk use in that it can sync while the iPod is connected but iTunes will eject the iPod when it is done syncing and iPDA will no longer be able to transfer to the iPod.
