Keywords Editor Help 

Installation:

·         Run the installation file.

·         During The installation you will have to select the Photoshop’s plug-in folder, click on the 'browse' button and select the required folder. The default folder for Photoshop CS is 'C:\Program Files\Adobe\Photoshop CS\Plug-Ins' and for CS2 is 'C:\Program Files\Adobe\Photoshop CS2\Plug-Ins'

·         Start Photoshop, the Keywords Editor plug-in will appear under the menu item 'File' - > 'Automate' - > 'Keywords Editor'

Plug-in controls:

  • Templates Section:
  • Load Template: Load pre-saved template with pre-typed values for all the text fields. The last template will always appear on the list.
  • Save template: save the current text fields as a new template. Popup windows will appear so you can name the new template.
  • Delete Template: Delete one of the saved templates.

 

  • Regular fields Sections
  • Fields:  Title, Photographer, Description, Copyright Notice, Copyright URL.
  • Last Typed Button: (the button on the left side of the text fields marked by ...) enables loading one of the last ten strings that were typed in this text field.

 

  • Keywords Section
  • Text area:
  • Type here all the needed Keywords separated by a comma or a semi comma.
  • Right click on word and a menu will popup with these options:
  • Suggestions/Synonyms: If the speller doesn’t recognize the selected word the Suggestions option will appear, click on it and the speller will suggest close words to select from. If the speller recognizes the selected word the Synonyms option will appear, click on it and the speller will suggest synonyms list to select from.
  • Delete word: Delete the selected word
  • To Upper Case: Change the selected word to upper case.
  • To Lower Case: Change the selected word to lower case.
  • Select all: Select all the words in the text area.

  • Tools button:
  • Spell Checker: Activate the spell checker on all words in the text area. In the spell dialog every un-recognized word will appear and the user will have the option to replace it from another word from a list, delete it or ignore and continue.
  • Sort: Sort the words in the text area according to Alfa-numeric order.
  • Delete Duplicate: Delete duplicate words.
  • To Upper case: Change all words to upper case.
  • To Lower case: Change all words to lower case.
  • Add Keyword’s Group: Add words from a selected group to the words that are already in the text area. You can select group from one of the group’s folders or from the default folder.
  • Save Keywords as group: Save all the words in the text area to a new group. You can select group from one of the group’s folders or from the default folder.
  • Delete Group: Delete the selected word’s group.
  • Groups Folders: Create new folder of groups or delete existing one. It’s impossible to delete non-emty folder.

Count button: Recount the words in the selected area. 

 

Additional buttons:

  • OK:  Close the plug- in dialog and save the metadata to the image file. Important Notice: the actual saving to the image file will be only when the user saves the file, this is done in order to decrease the data loss that happens in every save operation of pictures in jpg format.
  • Cancel: Close the plug-in dialog without saving the metadata to the image file.
  • About: Open the about dialog.

 

XMP Converter:

·        This tool converts the Photoshop XMP files that store the meta-data info of the files into KeywordsEditor’s templates structure.

·        You can use it to import all the data you enter using the ‘File Info’ option in Photoshop into KeywordsEditor.

·        To activate it, needs to browse to the directory where the Photoshop keeps the XMP files, the default location is: ‘C:\Documents and Settings\<Current login user name>\Application Data\Adobe\XMP\Metadata Templates’ and then select start.

·        All the imported templates will appear on the template’s list as regular KeywordsEditor’s templates.
