If I have any problems with the program what can I do?
Option Impacts Analysis focuses on cross-impacts
amongst comparative evaluations within a selection set.
It applies when you want to determine the comparative
preference structure and preference flows i.e. from which other options each
option immediately draws its share.
With two options their cross-impacts on share are obvious and direct. If one option is eliminated then the other has 100% monopoly of choice. With three or more options the cross-impacts amongst options are more complicated and worthy of closer analysis.
Analysis of the
cross-impacts of comparative evaluations involves appraisals of options
indicating,
directly or indirectly, their selectability. Relevant appraisals include
ratings, rankings, or probabilities, or selection identifications. These are
analysed by the program.
Note:
Option Impacts Analysis is limited to analysis of
selection shares. If your data consists of ratings you may also be interested
in cross-impacts on inter-option appeal in terms of changes in advantage and
disadvantage. This procedure is contained in the
Suitable input for
analysis involves survey-type data with options and other variables in columns
and cases in rows. (See ReformattingData.xls for preparing suitable input data
if it is not readily available.)
The program is able
to analyse 3 to 30 options and more than 60,000 cases in a single program run.
Option evaluation data
may be boolean, dichotomous, complete or partial ratings or rankings, or
selection probabilities.
Alternative methods
are available for handling selection ties.
Missing values,
option labels and input weights for obtaining weighted results can be included.
More than 200
supplementary variables can be associated with any single analysis. These
variables are useful for filtering for sub-group analysis.
Some example data and
Option Impacts Analysis output are included in the file ExampleAnalyses.xls.
You need to have
Windows and
Microsoft Excel97 or later.
